Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their organisation on a 12-month FTC basis
Hybrid working
Central London
£45-50k per annum
Duties include;
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and contract staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages, salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Ensure payroll complies with HMRC regulations and other statutory requirements (e.g. PAYE, NI, pensions, student loans).
- Prepare and submit statutory filings such as P45s, P60s, and Real Time Information (RTI) submissions.
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory bodies during audits or inspections.
- Oversee payroll software systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and fit for purpose.
- Implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure alignment of payroll data with employee records and financial reporting.
- Lead and develop the payroll team, providing training, support, and performance management.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members are clear on responsibilities and deadlines.
- Act as the main point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees, HR, and Finance.
- Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures.
- Support senior management with payroll data and analysis for strategic decision-making.
- Manage pension scheme contributions and auto-enrolment processes.
You will have;
- Strong previous experience of end-to-end payroll operations including bacs, FPS & EPS
- Familiarity with UK tax laws, HMRC regulations, pensions, and employment legislation.
- Skilled in payroll systems like and Excel - including vlookups and pivot tables.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to audit, reconcile, and report payroll data.
- CIPP Qualified
