Summary

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (including PMLD, SLD, and Autism)


Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons


Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs


Use creative, sensory-based approaches to support engagement and communication


Help manage behaviour in a calm and positive way


Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff


Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment


Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential)


Patience, empathy, and adaptability when supporting pupils with complex needs


Strong communication and teamwork skills


Positive attitude and commitment to inclusive education


Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA or SEN training are advantageous


Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
