Management Accountant
Our client is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to maintain balance sheets, bank, debtors and creditors reconciliations and act as a support for key departmental roles.
General duties would include, but are not limited to:
• Inventory control and business KPI variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance and integrity of financial data
• Preparing periodic financial statements, including departmental analysis, forecasts, budgets, cash analysis, variance analysis and commentaries.
• Inventory reconciliations, raw materials, finished goods.
• Standard cost reviews
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make final decisions, this will include preparation work on acquisition requests (Capex)
• Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget (monitoring)
• Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions (OPEX/Capex)
• Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium- and long-term business planning/forecasts.
• Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
• Liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context
• Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
• Ensuring compliance with SOX (including Blackline monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations)
• Internal and external audits
• Assist and cover other roles within the Finance department where appropriate. (AP, AR, Payroll and bank)
Skills and Experience required
• Part Qualified/Newly Qualified CIMA/ACCA or similar (QBE Considered)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience at a management accountant level
• Payroll Experience – Desired but not essential
• Excellent excel skills, Outlook & Word
• In depth finance experience – ideally in Manufacturing or FMCG
• High attention to detail
• Computer literate
• Knowledge of SOX - extremely beneficial but not essential
• Experience of working to tight reporting deadlines
• Excellent communication skills essential, ability to give clear written and verbal instructions, clearly understand and explain technical and commercial issues to customers and have a good understanding of procedures and processes.
• Highly responsible, reliable and flexible with a strong work ethic.
• Able to effectively prioritise and adapt to a varied and changeable workload
• Punctual and presentable with good attendance
• Must be a strong team player, who is integral and has a positive attitude.
