We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 SLT to work within the mainstream education service across the inner London boroughs of Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. In this key role, you will contribute to service development, provide expert clinical input and support colleagues within a knowledgeable and friendly team.

Joinusif you want to:
• Have opportunities to take the lead on service development initiatives, and share new insights and best practices
• Work within a forward thinking, collaborative and supportiveteam
• Work jointly with parents, schoolteamsand other professionals to develop a shared understanding of each child/young person’sspeech,languageand communication needs and how these can be supported
• Support schools in embedding effective universal and targeted practice within their settings
• Develop clinical supervision and line management skills

• Providing highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention to CYP with speech language and communication needs. This will include supporting parents, school staff and other professionals in all issues related to client management. Liaison with the MDT is an integral part of the role.
• Understanding and meeting professional and legal SEND responsibilities outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014 including contributing to statutory assessments of special educational needs and delivery of SLT provision as specified in CYP’s Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Having accountability for own professional actions and recognising own professional boundaries, seeking advice as appropriate.
• Providing highly specialist clinical supervision, line management and peer review to other SLTs and students and support in the training and development of junior therapists in the team.
• Contributing to developments within individual teams and the broader service including in the development of policies and procedures relating to clinical care, evidence-based practice, care pathways and outcome development.
• Delivering training to staff e.g. specific in-service training across settings to a variety of audiences e.g. parents and staff in schools settings.
• Liaising with other colleagues across a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies.
