YMCA Cornwall is looking for a motivated and versatile Fundraising and Partnerships Officer to join our team and help drive vital income to support our work across the region.

About the Role

As our Fundraising and Partnerships Officer, you’ll play a key part in helping us raise the income needed to support vulnerable young people through housing, health, and wellbeing services. Your primary focus will be securing grants from trusts and foundations, but you’ll also get to flex your fundraising skills across a variety of income streams, including corporate partnerships, community initiatives, and events.
You’ll have the opportunity to manage relationships, research opportunities, and take ownership of the fundraising pipeline — all while being part of a friendly, values-driven organisation dedicated to empowering young people.

Key Responsibilities

Trusts and Foundations

• Research and identify new trust and foundation funding opportunities.
• Write and submit compelling funding applications and impact reports.
• Maintain an accurate database of funders and communications.
• Build and sustain long-term relationships with funders.

Corporate Fundraising

• Identify and approach potential corporate sponsors.
• Develop partnership proposals and deliver high-quality stewardship.
• Support ongoing communication with corporate supporters.

Fundraising Events & Community

• Assist in organising YMCA Cornwall events and support third-party fundraising.
• Engage with local supporters to help them meet fundraising targets.
• Promote and support local fundraising activities and maximise Gift Aid claims.

General Duties

• Represent YMCA Cornwall at meetings and networking events.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather impact data and funding needs.
• Maintain accurate records and produce regular fundraising reports.
• Support a culture of fundraising across the organisation.

• Excellent written communication and research skills.
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal abilities.
• Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects.
