Summary
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced SEN/Education Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice on Special Educational Needs (SEN) and education matters, and will be expected to represent clients in tribunal hearings as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert legal advice to clients on SEN and education law matters.
Prepare for and represent clients in Education, SEN, and related tribunal hearings.
Draft legal documents, including statements of case, letters, and submissions.
Liaise with schools, local authorities, and other stakeholders regarding SEN and education issues.
Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation, case law, and policy developments in education and SEN law.
Support and mentor junior legal staff, where applicable.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified solicitor or barrister with significant experience in SEN/Education law.
Demonstrable experience representing clients in tribunal hearings.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and case law in education and SEN.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and advocacy skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Desirable:
Experience working with local authorities or educational institutions.
Experience in alternative dispute resolution.
