Summary

A Primary School in Middleton are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Business Manager to join their vibrant and inclusive primary school. This is a key leadership role, responsible for the strategic and operational management of the school's finances, HR, premises, and administration. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a school that values collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Location: Middleton, M24
Contract Type: Interim (Full-Time / Part-Time - negotiable), potentially temp to perm
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £18/hour - £25/hour DOE


Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead on financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Oversee HR processes including recruitment, payroll, and compliance
  • Manage contracts, procurement, and supplier relationships
  • Ensure health & safety and premises management are compliant and effective
  • Support the school office and oversee the school's administrative function
  • Support the Headteacher and Governors with strategic planning and decision-making


Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in school business management (ideally within a primary setting)
  • Strong understanding of education finance systems and compliance
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and premises management within education
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running and work independently


Desirable:

  • CSBM or DSBM qualification (or equivalent)
  • Relevant degree or qualification (Finance, HR)
