Summary

Single Skilled RDF Operative

Salary: £29522.83 per annum, plus Veolia benefits and pension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week 7am - 4:30pm

Overtime: Available during busy periods Weekdays x1.3, Saturdays x1.5 Sundays and Bank Holidays x2

Location: Thamesmead, SE28 0AB

What you'll be doing;

  • Conduct inspections of all incoming waste materials to verify compliance with RDF acceptance criteria and identify any prohibited items or contaminants.
  • Oversee daily operational activities including equipment startup sequences, continuous monitoring of processing systems, and proper shutdown procedures to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
  • Plan and optimize waste processing workflows by scheduling different waste streams through appropriate treatment lines to maximize throughput and maintain consistent RDF quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and record-keeping systems for all waste receipts, processing activities, quality test results, and production outputs to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Implement and enforce all Veolia Management Requirements (VMR) policies across daily operations, including safety protocols, environmental standards, and quality management procedures.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and staff training sessions to ensure all personnel understand and consistently follow VMR policies, safety requirements, and operational procedures.

What we're looking for;

Essential

  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial
  • Experience in quality control
  • Ability to work well as part of a team

Desirable

  • Experience in Waste management
