Ad-hoc Sickness & Holiday Cover | Trunking & General Haulage | £17.00 per hour

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 Night Drivers to join our pool of drivers providing ad-hoc cover for sickness and holiday requirements. The work is based in Blackburn and the surrounding areas, with assignments varying between trunking runs and general haulage.

This is a great opportunity for professional drivers who are looking for flexible night shifts, steady hourly pay, and the chance to work with a well-organised and supportive transport team.

The Role:

• Night shift driving - trunking and general haulage

• Ad-hoc cover only - work offered to cover staff absence/holidays

• Typically 1-5 shifts available per week, depending on client demand

• Ensuring all loads are safely secured and delivered on time

• Completing vehicle checks and maintaining driver paperwork to legal standards

Pay & Hours:

• £17.00 per hour (PAYE)

• Weekly pay

• Night shifts (start times may vary, usually between 17:00-22:00)

• Shift lengths typically between 8-12 hours

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence

• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card

• Minimum 6-12 months' Class 1 driving experience (trunking/general haulage)

• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD/DR/IN endorsements)

• A reliable, flexible, and professional approach to work

• Ability to work independently and follow delivery schedules
