Summary
A permanent new team is being established to work as a peripatetic team to support our Mental Health inpatient services supporting Adults and Older Peoples inpatient wards.
We are seeking proactive, compassionate, caring and recovery focused Healthcare Assistants with excellent communication skills to join our existing experienced and dynamic multidisciplinary teams. You will be involved in extensive assessments and formulations to support the planning and delivery of patient care. The multidisciplinary teams all work in a way that is collaborative, evidenced based and responsive to people's needs.
The peripatetic team is allocate on arrival and allows flexibility to work across multiple sites and multi-disciplinary teams and gain valuable experience across a range of inpatient services.
Please note applicants willbe requiredto pay for their DBS check.Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
We provide high quality care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to patients who are experiencing a range of mental health and emotional difficulties.
We are looking for dynamic Healthcare Assistants with an ability to work in a flexible manner to meet the demands and needs of the service. Applicants should have knowledge and experience of working in Mental Health, a good understanding of risk and be keen to join a strong and committed team.

You will be expected to work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care and treatment of patients, working in a recovery-orientated and holistic manner towards the ultimate discharge of the patient.
You will be expected to participate in any future training identified in order to fulfil the role of the Healthcare Assistant. You will be given opportunities for training and development in different areas of the Health Care Assistant role and any aspects of your particular interest.
Candidates will be expected to work a full range of shifts including day and night shifts across 7 days per week working across the Highbury Hospital and Sherwood Oaks sites. However, there will be an opportunity to discuss your preferred base during the recruitment process although flexibility will be required.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change.
