Summary
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineering Specialist to join our clients growing Project Logistics Team. This position is ideal for career starters in engineering/logistics or experienced professionals looking to enhance their technical and operational capabilities in the exciting world of global project cargo logistics.
You will play a key role in the technical planning, execution, and operations management of complex transport projects—ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance from concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Engineering
• Conduct feasibility studies and route surveys for heavy/oversized cargo
• Assist in technical transport solutions (lifting, securing, moving)
• Develop and review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
• Evaluate cargo specs to create safe lifting and transport plans
• Coordinate with structural engineers on load and stability calculations
• Review heavy lift equipment and rigging arrangements
Operations Management
• Operate project tools (CAD, 3D scanning, LiDAR, asset tagging, swept-path analysis)
• Liaise with ports, shipping lines, and specialist transport vendors
• Oversee loading, securing, and discharge of cargo
• Track project milestones and provide status updates
• Manage logistics documentation (permits, certificates, etc.)
• Update internal project management platforms
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as a technical liaison during project execution
• Conduct on-site visits and cargo surveys
• Build relationships with vendors and service providers
• Support commercial and sales teams with technical input
Quality, Safety & Compliance
• Maintain and improve QHSE standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
• Identify risks and escalate issues with appropriate documentation
• Ensure compliance with international logistics regulations
• Stay updated on best practices, new technology, and industry changes

Candidate Requirements
Entry-Level Candidates
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Marine, or related)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• High level of computer and software literacy
• Familiarity with CAD software preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to travel both within the UK and internationally
• Valid and clean UK driving licence
Experienced Professionals
• 2–3+ years in project logistics, transport, freight forwarding, or related sectors
• Proven ability to manage complex cargo or project shipments
• Working knowledge of international shipping and customs regulations
• Existing industry network of suppliers and service providers
Desirable Skills
• CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), route planning and transport modelling tools
• Previous exposure to oil & gas, renewable energy, or heavy industry projects
• Additional language skills (advantageous)
