Summary
The job plan will contain 10 Programmed Activities per week, to be carried out mainly on the Royal Brompton site and also includes and additional on-call commitment. The appointee may work on the other two sites of the Trust, Harefield and St Thomas sites. This is an outline programme, and you will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan including your personal and professional objectives with your Clinical Leads/Director within 3 months of your start date. The appointee is expected to be proficient and independent in simple and complex arrhythmia interventions including catheter ablation and device implantation. The role will focus on complementing the local and wider team across GSTT, particularly in arrhythmia intervention and integration of cross-site services. The successful candidate will participate in rotas for electrophysiology on call and consultant of the week, in addition to providing ward rounds and supporting the weekly multidisciplinary team meeting. Flexible cross-cover of catheter laboratory sessions is an important part of this post reflected by the allocation of 2PAs (DCC) for this activity. These PAs will be assigned to the sites with the greatest need as required. The appointee will be encouraged and supported to develop an interest in ventricular arrhythmia research particularly with a cross-site and cross-disciplinary approach.
