Summary
We are seeking a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school team on an ongoing, long-term temporary basis on a 3 to 4 day work week, starting mid-October 2025. The role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil who requires additional help to access learning.
Be part of a dedicated team in a well-regarded early years setting where children are curious, creative, and eager to learn. Staff work collaboratively to support children's development through engaging activities, meaningful interactions, and a nurturing environment that promotes confidence and independence.
Duties as Year 5 Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil, focusing on academic progress and engagement.
Assist with adapting and delivering learning activities to meet individual needs.
Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to ensure the pupil is supported effectively.
Encourage independence and confidence in learning.
Support the pupil’s social and emotional development in a positive and inclusive way.
Ideal Year 5 Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a school setting is essential.
An understanding of supporting children with additional learning needs as a Year 5 Teaching Assistant.
A patient, encouraging and positive approach.
Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff.
