Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Year 1/2 class. This temporary ongoing position begins after the October half-term and offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

This is a 5-day week role with the hours between 07:45 to 15:00. You will be working in a Reception year group, supporting pupils learning at an EYFS stage.

Duties as Year 1/2 SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.

  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.

  • Help pupils to access the curriculum and develop confidence in their learning.

  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of pupils in an inclusive way.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for the children.

Ideal Year 1/2 SEND Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND is essential.

  • A positive, patient, and nurturing approach.

  • Ability to adapt to the needs of individual learners.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a Year 1/2 SEND Teaching Assistant.

  • Needs to have a relevant qualification of Level 2 or higher.
