Summary
North Star Academy Trust is a small multi-academy trust that was set up with the ambition to improve the SEND provision in the South West and provide as many young people as possible with a bespoke, specialist education that is tailored to each individual's needs. We are a small but growing Trust, we currently consist of 4 schools including both Primary and Secondary provisions and an Alternative Provision.
Are you interested in working with children and young people in a SEMH setting to develop their speech, language and communication skills? This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team working under the direction of our Speech and Language Therapist, delivering therapy, supporting school staff and changing the lives of young people. You will be required to work 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum. Actual salary £25,700 - £27,602 p.a.You will support children to achieve the outcomes agreed by a Speech and Language Therapist in conjunction with the school and family, through a range of activities including: • Working individually with a child/ young person within the school • Modelling strategies to class teachers/ teaching assistants • Working with small groups• Making resources to support student’s speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).The successful applicants will have: • Experience of working with children and young people either within mainstream or specialist schools • Flexibility to adapt both your approach and communication style in order to deliver therapy intervention which is functional and client centredYou will be part of: • An exciting and innovative development of an All-through learning community • A dedicated team of staff who strive for excellence • A caring and inclusive ethos • A school which has supportive Trustees and Parents with high expectations of the schoolIn return, we offer a competitive salary, pension, a supportive team, training and development and the potential for career progression to the right person.This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding Trust with opportunities for personal and professional growth and development and career progression for the right candidate.
