Summary

We are looking for a maintenance operative who will fit right in and add value to our team based in Redcar. This role involves working within our customers’ homes to support all trades in delivering both minor and major repairs as part of the complex repairs team. It includes internal and external work and plays a vital role in our mission to provide homes our customers want. By carrying out all aspects of repairs in line with Awaab’s Law, we aim to achieve first-time fixes wherever possible. The role also includes the collection and delivery of materials and goods to ensure efficient service delivery.

What you’ll bring to the team/role

Skills, knowledge and experience

Able to undertake a diverse range of basic tasks across relevant trades

Competence in using hand and power tools

Effective communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach

Ability to work independently and use own initiative

Strong problem-solving and decision making skills

Proficiency in using information technology, such as PDAs or tablet devices

Proven experience in a trades or construction environment

Sound knowledge of good health and safety practices



Our department and team:

The complex repairs team provides a high-level service to our customers by addressing all issues related to damp and mould within our existing housing stock. The team also undertakes all works associated with disrepair claims, ensuring that repairs are carried out efficiently and to a high standard.

As part of this role, you may be eligible for allowances including an enhanced tool allowance, multiskilling allowance and callout payments, which will be discussed if you are invited to an interview.

Pay award pending minimum 2.2%
