GP Collaborative Board Development and Engagement Manager Salary: Band D £ 38,384 - £46,221 Contract: Fixed term maternity cover minimum 11 months Working pattern: Part time, maximum of 30 hours per week, hybrid working, 2 days at Osprey Court, South Bristol, with occasional travel across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) Mission and vision Our mission is to empower general practice. The GP Collaborative Board (GPCB) is the representative voice of general practice in planning and decision-making within the BNSSG Healthier Together health and care system. We are here to make sure general practice is heard. We ensure the perspective of general practice is considered and central to any discussions. We also ensure that any decisions made, and actions taken in the region improve working life for our doctors and practice staff and enhance patient care. We: represent general practice at Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), Integrated Care System (ICS), and Integrated Care Board (ICB) level ensure general practice expertise is included in the development of new system programmes ratify new patient pathways and strategies to advance patient care ensure accurate and timely information flows to and from general practice create and fund new innovative programmes of work and projects About the Role Communications and engagement The role will lead the team to coordinate communications to all relevant audiences regarding the GPCB, including emails, newsletters, intranet, and website posts. This will include writing and sending emails to system partners on behalf of the GPCB Chair and board members. The role is responsible for interacting with external stakeholders (general practice and system partners) and escalating issues to the Chair when necessary. The need to create and nurture positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial and has a significant impact on the reputation of the GPCB. Key responsibilities include: To create and coordinate GPCB-related communications to practices and other stakeholders. To coordinate feedback from practices and GPCB members on system issues and proposals pertinent to general practice To manage the engagement of GPCB members, the One Care team, the ICB, and other senior stakeholders, advocating for the GPCB and general practice To develop and maintain the golden thread of communication and engagement between general practices and the system through communications, meetings (locality, GPCB) and workshops. Build and maintain relationships with general practice and ICB leaders to bring best benefit for the GPCB Board and business development The role is responsible for contributing towards the development of GPCB strategic plans. This includes identifying upcoming system workstreams, scoping opportunities for general practice to influence and development of GPCB strategic direction. Responsibilities include: To scope the potential and produce business cases for upcoming opportunities for general practice. To identify areas of operational efficiency in the design and implementation of GPCB governance processes With support, to design, implement and embed GPCB governance processes To support programme managers with project implementation To develop effective communication and training materials To report project progress and exceptions to One Care and GPCB management To attend meetings on behalf of One Care and GPCB To work with system partners to achieve goals (e.g. trusts, to provide relationship management and benefits realisation working with the wider health system and practices To develop papers and presentations for GP Collaborative Board meetings on a range of strategic topics such as finance, system representation and GPCB workstreams To contribute to supporting, guiding and managing the work of the chair and vice chair, including raising key items for their attention and progressing actions/items on their behalf including drafting/sending of emails. To contribute towards development of strategic plans for the GPCB, including associated documentation Governance The role is responsible for providing assurance regarding the governance of the GPCB. Responsibilities include: Implementing the GPCB monthly reporting process (Programme Managers and finance) Ensuring the team have clearly defined roles and responsibilities (currently the role would line manage 3 staff) Working with the extended team to ensure there is robust governance between the GPCB, One Care and the wider system. Ensuring the new central clinical lead roles are integral to the GPCB governance processes. To provide support for the GPCB governance and decision-making processes To support the work of the GPCB and its members as required Key responsibilities Managing successful meetings High-quality administration of GPCB meetings, which will include setting tasks to other staff members such as sending out meeting invites, papers, emails, and ensuring work is done to the expected standard. Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of information related to the GPCB, including meeting minutes. Ensure GPCB actions are completed within required timescales, including completing actions where required. Coordinate general practice representation at system meetings, including coordination of associated funding (e.g. GPCB committee oversight, Locality lead and central clinical lead workforce) Manage the GPCB email inboxes, ensuring that emails are actioned and responded to in a timely manner. Set up and develop processes for running GP locality meetings to bring most benefit to individual localities and the GPCB. Work with GP locality leads to build relationships between localities and the GPCB. Work closely with the GPCB leadership team to make sure GPCB, practice and system priorities are addressed through GPCB meetings or other routes.
