Summary
Grounds maintenance of public open spaces - hedge cutting, grass cutting, shrub bed maintenance, collection of any litter, fly tips and emptying of bins.
Operating specialist equipment such as strimmer’s, hedge cutters, hand blowers, pole saw and other power tools for certain tasks on a daily basis, to a high standard ensuring that safety procedures are followed and reporting faults and breakdowns as part of routine checks of equipment.
Checking work is completed to the required standards, you will provide support, advice, and allocate daily tasks to a small group of staff ensuring they have clear instructions.
Working within the approved risk assessment framework, you will ensure the safety of yourself and colleagues reporting any issues of concern.
Communicate with customers and give good, accurate advice and information and make sure that documents and records are accurate, up to date and accessible.
Experience:
Previous experience of working within a team would be preferred. Some experience of using small grounds tools (strimmers, hedge cutters, hand blower) and relevant qualifications are essential. A general understanding of maintenance tasks such as repairing fences, fixing signs and removing graffiti.
able to interpret and follow health and safety advice and regulations through written instruction, risk assessments, verbal advice, and toolbox talks.
working experience of face-to-face contact with the public, giving a high standard of customer care.
Be able to demonstrate a good level of literacy and able to interpret information.
