Summary

Do you have a passion for bettering young people's lives?

Can you see yourself improving the educational future of pupils who require a higher level, with the ability to build rapport with a range of learners?

Have you got experience in a support or care role and fancy transferring your skills into the classroom?

Then you would be great working with children who may have Social and Emotional Mental Health needs or Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties within an alternative education provision or mainstream school.

If you are enthusiastic about supporting children and young people we would love to hear from you. We have teaching assistant roles available a range of schools across Manchester including both alternative provisions and mainstream schools depending on your preferences.

Must haves:

  • the ability to communicate with children from diverse backgrounds
  • be comfortable working with children who may have faced struggles in School and require that extra support
  • confidence in behaviour management skills
  • the ability to guide children in building their self-esteem and confidence
  • a nurturing and trusting nature
  • the ability to engage the pupils in the lesson or activity ahead
  • work in a team with the teacher or teaching assistants

Ideally:

  • Experience supporting learners on a one to one / small group basis
  • At least 3 months UK classroom experience
  • Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification
  • Experience working with individuals with SEMH including autism/ ADHD
