Summary
Sandbrook Community Playgroup in Stoke Newington is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated Deputy Manager-MAT Cover with a minimum of three years experience in a preschool/nursery setting working with children aged 2-5 years old.
Management experience is desirable.
Our Deputy Manager- MAT Cover will be room based so we are looking for somebody who absolutely loves working with children, who is warm and caring and is able to make learning fun. We also want somebody who can enthuse and lead other staff and ensure that teaching is of the highest standard. Qualification essential for the post is minimum NVQ level 3 and EYPS or EYT will be an advantage. You must have excellent knowledge of the EYFS.
First aid, safeguarding and food hygiene training essential and must have a valid DBS that is already on the update service.
This is a Maternity cover one year contract which would start in January 2026 and end in December 2026.
We have a well-being service and free snacks and drinks. After one year of employment you will be entitled to 10 paid sick days per annum.
Please note that we are a term time only setting. This role is for 36 hours a week, from 8.45am until 5.15pm on Mondays and from 8.45 am until 4.15 pm Tuesday to Friday. The hourly rate is £15.43. You will only work for 39 weeks of the year and will be paid for 5.6 weeks holiday.
