Salary: Grade 5, £19,917 - £21,933 per annum. £13.90 - £15.31 per hour
32.08 hours per week, term time plus one week working 39 weeks per year

The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Dean Trust Wigan.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be part of a friendly and dedicated team of staff who hold high expectations for all pupils and work tirelessly to raise attainment and achievement.
Key responsibilities:
To ensure the School’s Teaching and Learning protocols are followed in all cover lessons and pupils settle quickly to their learning activities.
To ensure students follow activities and lesson plans that have been set by absent teaching staff and when required to set appropriate work for pupils at their current stage of learning.
To manage the behaviour of students whilst they undertake the work that has been set and report any behaviour issues using the school’s procedures.
To quickly establish effective working relationships with all groups of pupils taught
To support and guide pupils in lessons with their progress in tasks set
To respond to any questions to the best of their ability that students may have surrounding the tasks set
To manage the effective deployment of Teaching Assistants during lessons taught
To provide verbal and written feedback on work completed when required
To provide accurate assessment and reporting information when required
To collect any completed work after the lesson and return it to the appropriate teacher/Curriculum Manager informing staff of any issues identified
To deal effectively with any issues, whether behavioural or otherwise, in the appropriate manner and in accordance with School procedures
To undertake the role of the Form Tutor when required
To assist the Pupil Support Managers with pastoral and behaviour issues
To participate fully in CPD training and staff development programmes
To contribute fully to wider aspects of School, supporting additional opportunities provided for pupils
To safeguard and promote the welfare of all students within the school
To respect confidential issues linked to home/students/teacher/school work and to keep confidences where appropriate
To attend meetings, as appropriate and to contribute to discussions about individual pupils
To attend Parents’ Evening, as required, to contribute to the discussions about individual pupils’ progress.
To abide by and work towards all the policies within the school, eg behaviour management, health & safety, equal opportunities
On occasions Cover Supervisors may also be required to carry out the following tasks:
Provide specific departmental support, including displays
Help with the support of individual students with SEN
Carry out suitable administrative tasks
