Specific Duties

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  1. Welcome and acknowledge each and every guest with a smile, eye contact and a friendly verbal greeting. Using the guests name where possible.
  2. To be aware of hotel’s layout and facilities.
  3. Collect guest laundry from rooms and reception
  4. Unpack and count in all clean linen against delivery notes.
  5. Report short deliveries to Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor.
  6. Deliver clean linen to the Housekeeping linen pantry’s.
  7. Collect dirty linen from corridors.
  8. Collect rubbish from room attendants as required
  9. Loading dirty linen into linen cages
  10. Unpack and check in guest laundry against laundry delivery note and deliver to corresponding room number
  11. Ensure all paperwork is completed on a daily basis
  12. Accepting, counting and storage of deliveries ensuring stock rotation
  13. All delivery notes to be given to the Supervisor
  14. Complete weekly linen stock takes
  15. Ensure linen room internal and external door is locked when unattended
  16. Ensure correct door knocking procedure is followed when delivering guest requests
  17. Deliver Prim room items, Z beds, cots, fridges etc as requested
  18. To ensure that any guest requests received are immediately actioned in a timely manner.
  19. Identify reject linen and store this separately to return to the linen room.
  20. Ensure Linen room is clean and tidy.
  21. Turn mattresses, change shower curtains and sheers curtains as instructed by the supervisor.
  22. Change bedding to foam/feather as instructed by the Supervisor
  23. To ensure lights, electricity, gas, and water are no used unnecessarily in your working area.
  24. Follow cleaning schedule to ensure the correct solvents/cleaning products are used at all times, adhering to COSHH regulations.
  25. Immediately hand any lost property to the Supervisor, noting time, place, and date.
  26. Report all maintenance faults to Supervisor.
  27. Respect the privacy of every guest by treating any confidential information with caution in line with hotel policies.
  28. To strictly follow the procedure for general security of master keys and allowing guests access to rooms when asked to be let in.
  29. To report any suspicious items or circumstances to your Supervisor
  30. Fully understand all fire and emergency evacuation procedures. Observes Company and Statutory Health and Safety Regulations
  31. Keep uniform smart and clean at all times. Maintain personal hygiene standards at all times.
  32. Name badge to be worn at all times
  33. Attend Departmental meetings, participating when appropriate
  34. Attend any training sessions as identified or requested by Head of Department. To be fully trained and to understand COSHH/Health and Safety
  35. All policies on Cash, Key and All Controls are adhered to and followed consistently.

  • Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than your contracted hours
