The Role:
We’re looking for enthusiastic, caring, and experienced classroom support staff to join our team. You’ll work closely with our amazing teachers to create a high-quality learning environment that meets the individual needs of our pupils.
This is a permanent Scale 7 position, offering fantastic opportunities for professional growth in a school that truly values its staff.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll need to:
• Have at least 3 years’ experience working with children who have special educational needs.
• Hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
• Be confident in your written and verbal communication, and comfortable with numeracy (we’ll test this).
• Be a great team player who can also take initiative.
• Be ready to support children who may display challenging behaviours.
Ideally, you will also have
• Experience with differentiated learning and multisensory techniques.
• Training in structured teaching approaches like TEACCH or SCERTS.
• Familiarity with motivational behaviour strategies.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supporting teachers in the classroom and working together to deliver engaging lessons.
• Providing 1:1 or small group support to help children access their learning.
• Helping to deliver activities tailored to each child’s needs.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their emotional and social development.
• Taking part in ongoing training to stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN.
