Summary

Financial Controller | Great Gransden (with some travel required to the Stevenage office) | Full Time | Working hours are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday | £40,000-£50,000 per annum

Our client is a tape printing company with manufacturing sites in Great Gransden and Stevenage.

They are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Financial Controller to take ownership of the day-to-day, weekly and monthly financial operations, and to support the Finance Director in delivering accurate management information.

Are you the right person for the job?

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified, QBE considered
• Strong knowledge of Sage
• Experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash flow management
• A proven track record of bank reconciliation, supplier payments and credit control
• Good understanding of monthly management accounts, journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
• Experience with VAT returns, reporting and audit support
• Excellent Excel skills and the ability to present financial data clearly
• High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• A collaborative, problem-solving approach and willingness to support colleagues when needed
• Positive can-do attitude and analytical approach
• Ideally with experience in a manufacturing/print business
• A UK driving licence and own car are essential

What will your role look like?

Your responsibilities will cover daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc finance tasks, including:

• Processing bank transactions, customer receipts and purchase ledger invoices
• Credit control, including chasing late payments and escalating as required
• Reconciling bank accounts, managing cashflow forecasts and supplier payments (UK & EU)
• Managing invoice discount facility drawdowns and reconciliations
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Reviewing aged debtors and creditors, stock adjustments and fixed assets
• Assisting the Finance Director with monthly management accounts
• Preparing quarterly VAT and PPT returns
• Supporting audit requirements
• Producing analysis, reporting and sales reports as required
• Treasury management and wider financial control responsibilities
