Summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Sundry Income Team, within the Finance Service, to provide outstanding customer service to customers who owe sundry debt to the Council.




The role involves liaising with clients and stakeholders to discuss outstanding debts, setting up payment plans, and proactively recovering overdue payments. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, communicating with clients effectively, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. The role is varied as you will be dealing with a wide variety of debt types and liaising with a large range of departments across the Council.



We are a friendly and supportive team, and you will receive full training and support and be encouraged to share your ideas for continuous improvement.




Key duties/responsibilities:



• Assist with the effective account maintenance for all sundry debt accounts as well as ensuring prompt and effective recovery action throughout the court process of revenues due from all sundry income.

• Assist the Sundry Income Team Leader in ensuring efficient processing of all invoice amendments issuing timely bills and prompt recovery of all outstanding amounts, providing a high-level check on invoicing, collection, and account maintenance functions.

• Provide a friendly, professional, and courteous service to the public through telephone and e-mail enquiries, giving advice on all aspects of sundry debt, working in partnership with all service departments, and other organisations and agencies.

• Ensure efficient processing of all invoices and subsequent collection and recovery of all charges and costs. Pursuing invoices in debt recovery and making decisions regarding the submission of claims via local county court or on-line services which may result in County Court judgements.



If you have recent experience of customer service and/or debt recovery experience, we will welcome your application. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.
