Summary
The Wigan Adult ADHD team are looking to recruit an ADHD Specialist Nurse (Band 6) to a permanent, part-time position (0.8wte/30 hours per week). Flexible working can be considered.
The successful applicant will join a friendly and supportive team and be supported by senior clinicians who will provide clinical supervision and
development opportunities within a specialist team.
The clinics are based at Wigan and Leigh and travel across the borough will also be required to support accessibility.
The opportunity for further professional development including specialist ADHD training and non-medical prescribing can be considered with the
successful applicant. Although specialist knowledge and experience of ADHD is desirable it is not essential.
• Completing routine reviews of patients with a confirmed ADHD diagnosis and plan clinical care accordingly.
• Review routine enquiries received by the service and respond to patient requests for support.
• Assessing the efficacy of treatment as well as completing physical health observations
• Completing a clinical triage of referrals received in to the service to determine suitability for assessment
• Attending the MDT to ensure we provide a collaborative approach whilst focusing on patient care
• Liaison with other agencies involved in a service users care to ensure effective communication leading to a comprehensive and integrated
package of care
• To supervise and provide support to students
• To act as an advocate to facilitate the views and choices expressed by our patients
