The Opportunity
Our client, a London-based engineering team are expanding their team to meet growing demand across UK defence projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join a global consultancy that prides itself on delivering excellent work, where every project matters.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll take ownership of medium-to-large scale projects, leading design from concept through to delivery. You’ll collaborate across multiple disciplines, drive technical excellence, and build long-term client partnerships that shape repeat success.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Lead delivery of mechanical building services designs from concept to construction.
- Act as Project Leader on medium-to-large projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulics, and more).
- Review contractor submissions and oversee construction administration.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, developing team capability.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- A recognised mechanical engineering qualification
- 8–10 years’ engineering experience in mechanical building services design.
- Proven project leadership/project management experience with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Knowledge of RIBA Stages 1–4A.
It’s great if you also have the following
- Experience with defence sector or large-scale commercial projects.
- Familiarity with other disciplines (electrical, public health, fire protection).
- Experience mentoring or training junior engineers.
