Summary
We have new job opportunities in Norfolk, IP24, for motivated and reliable individuals to work on outdoor pig breeding units.
The pig units are well-run by forward-thinking, modern companies accredited by Red Tractor, which place animal welfare at the heart of their businesses.
These are outdoor herds, so you must be willing to work outdoors in all weather. Protective clothing will be provided.
Your duties will include:
Feeding sows
Strawing up huts
Moving sows
Weaning piglets
Fallen stock removal
Artificial insemination
Identification of illness
Administering vaccinations and medicine
Practising good biosecurity
Accurate record keeping
Person specifications:
Reliable stock people and good, flexible team players
Conscientious and caring about the animals
You will need a driving licence and a car
Experienced with pig farming and can hit the ground running
Possibilities to progress to management may be available to the right candidate.
Salary: £28,500 – £35,000 DOE
