Are you a Psychology graduate or someone with a related degree looking to gain hands-on SEN experience?

Would you like to support pupils with additional needs in a mainstream secondary school as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant?

A welcoming Manchester secondary school is recruiting a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 7 pupil who has muscular dystrophy and requires daily personal care. This full-time role starts in September 2025 and offers £550–£610 per week.

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 7 pupil with muscular dystrophy
• Assist with mobility and personal care (full manual handling training provided)
• Support the pupil with day-to-day activities in and out of class
• Deliver academic support across a range of subjects
• Carry out standard Teaching Assistant duties within the classroom

This Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant position is ideally suited to Psychology graduates or those considering careers in Educational Psychology, Counselling, Youth Work, or Support roles. It offers exceptional experience in SEN, safeguarding, and inclusive education.
