Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for experienced and aspiring SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team in a specialist setting in the Preston area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

The Role:

As an SEN TA, you will be an essential part of the classroom team, providing one-to-one and small-group support to students with a range of complex needs, including:

  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
  • Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning activities.
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Help manage challenging behaviours and promote positive interactions.
  • Assist with personal care and medical needs where required.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable, but a genuine passion and a desire to learn are essential.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are a plus.
