Summary

Transport Administrator / Planner

Location: Birmingham

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Transport Administrator / Planner to join a busy and fast-paced logistics operation. This role combines planning and administrative responsibilities, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their skills within transport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport Planning: Create efficient schedules and routing plans to ensure timely deliveries.


  • Compliance Administration: Maintain accurate records of driver hours, vehicle checks, and legal documentation in line with regulations.


  • Customer & Supplier Communication: Handle queries and updates via email and telephone, ensuring clear and professional communication.


  • Task & Data Management: Update transport systems, input data accurately, and keep logs up to date.


  • Problem Solving: Resolve day-to-day issues relating to transport operations, escalating where required.


  • Document Control: Ensure all paperwork, PODs, and records are completed and filed correctly.


  • Team Support: Assist planners and managers with both operational and administrative tasks.


  • Policy Adherence: Follow company procedures and compliance requirements at all times.

    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships.


    • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.


    • High attention to detail and accuracy in administration tasks.


    • Reliable, trustworthy, and capable of handling confidential information.


    • Flexible and proactive in a fast-paced environment.


    • Experience in transport planning or transport administration (preferred but not essential).


    • Knowledge of transport compliance, working time regulations, and UK geography (advantageous).
