Summary
We are seeking a Financial Controller to manage and oversee financial operations in a fast-paced, growing business. This role will work closely with the CFO to drive efficiencies and transform the finance function, supporting ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end processes and prepare management accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
- Prepare 13-week cashflows to monitor debtor, creditor, and stock positions, supporting positive working capital
- Work with teams on inventory control and management
- Manage invoice finance facilities
- Lead, develop and mentor the finance team and support non-finance staff where needed
- Review financial processes and systems to ensure cost-efficiency and continuous improvement
- Assist in developing financial planning cycles, producing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Handle all HMRC, VAT, and tax submissions
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE with relevant experience
- Proactive problem solver with a hands-on approach and high resilience
- Strong communicator able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly detail-oriented with advanced Excel skills
- Experienced with finance systems; Sage experience desirable but not essential
- Strong analytical skills
- Previous experience in wholesale or e-commerce is highly desirable
