What you'll need…

  • Experience in providing senior management with regular updates regarding feature development and support.

  • Demonstrate good hands-on coding experience in Java (preferably Java 17) and Spring Boot, with the ability to design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications.

  • Proactively monitor OCP/Kafka processes and alerts, identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations.

  • Manage service support and Operations Management to support ensuring high availability and reliability of services.

  • Mentor, guide, and lead a team of engineers in incident, problem, and change management, fostering a culture of technical excellence and ownership.

  • Manage daily incidents and alerts, including log maintenance, review, and root cause analysis.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Kibana, with a strong focus on application-level debugging and performance tuning.

  • Report impacts, perform reconciliation, and engage stakeholders effectively during incident follow-ups.

  • Liaise with vendors for incident resolution and process improvements.

  • Review and manage change requests, participate in CAB discussions, and ensure smooth change implementation.

  • Lead BAU events such as Disaster Recovery (DR), Penetration Testing, and third-party change coordination.

  • Knowledge Maven for dependency management

  • Experienced with basic software development tools, source code management, and process automation like CI/CD Pipelines and Git.

  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting rota schedules subjected to Incidents and Change.

And any experience of these would be really useful…

  • Demonstrate familiarity with the banking sector, particularly with Faster Payments scheme, BACS payments scheme, and Image Clearing System.

  • Possess knowledge and experience in agile development practices, continuous integration, and test automation (e.g., TDD, BDD, Selenium).

  • Experience in providing technical guidance and mentoring.

  • Understanding of one of the public and private cloud infrastructure (AWS,GCP,Azure,OCP) will be beneficial.
