Summary
Ready to lead something new, exciting, and impactful?
At Black & White Engineering, we’re building a brand-new acoustics department — and we’re looking for a Senior Acoustics Engineer to take the reins. This is your chance to shape the future of external noise control for data centres, a niche but rapidly growing field that’s critical to global infrastructure.
Please note, this position can be based in our Newcastle, Manchester or Edinburgh office.
Whether you’ve worked on data centres before or come from a background in complex commercial buildings, your expertise will be valued. You’ll be the go-to expert, designing solutions that meet international noise regulations using tools like SoundPLAN and CadnaA. From acoustic louvres to perimeter walls, your work will directly influence how major projects come to life.
But this role is about more than technical delivery. You’ll build and lead a team — not just in the UK, but also in our Manila office — and collaborate with top-tier clients and consultants. You’ll have a clear path to Principal or Director-level, with the autonomy to shape your own career and the department’s future.
We operate a hybrid working model, with three days a week in our Manchester, Edinburgh, or Newcastle offices - so you can enjoy the flexibility of remote work without the London commute.
At B&W, we’re proud of our award-winning culture and global reach. We invest in our people through accredited courses, lunch & learn sessions, and tailored development programmes. You set the pace - we’ll support you every step of the way.
And when it comes to benefits, we’ve got you covered:
25 days holiday (option to purchase 5 extra days through salary sacrifice)
Discretionary Annual profit related bonus (normally between 6% and 10%, based on company performance)
7% matched pension contribution
Annual discretionary bonus scheme
Private healthcare
4x Life insurance
Payment protection scheme (75% of your salary paid for up to 3 years if in long term sickness absence)
Professional development support (accredited courses, lunch & learn sessions)
If you’re ready to lead, innovate, and be recognised for your impact, we’d love to hear from you.
