Summary

At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.

Bath and Northeast Somerset Partnership seeks a Community Safety and Safeguarding Business Manager to create and implement safety strategies, advise senior management, coordinate government responses, and ensure legal compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring compliance:
Making sure the organization meets key stakeholder and legal standards related to safeguarding.

Providing expert advice:
Offering guidance to senior management on safeguarding matters and ensuring adherence to best practices and legal requirements.

Developing and implementing safeguarding policies:
This includes creating frameworks, tools, and training materials related to safeguarding

Coordinating responses to consultations:
Staying informed about and responding to government consultations on safeguarding matters.

Chairing multi-agency meetings:
Leading discussions and ensuring positive outcomes in complex safeguarding situations.

Challenging current practices:
Identifying areas for improvement in safeguarding and driving forward changes.

Required Skills and Experience:

Strategic leadership:
Demonstrating the ability to develop and implement long-term safeguarding strategies.

Experience in managing Community Safety and safeguarding issues:
Having a strong understanding of Community Safety and safeguarding procedures and the ability to address complex situations.

Multi-agency experience:
Proven ability to work effectively with various agencies involved in safeguarding.

Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance:
Understanding key regulations and best practices in safeguarding.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills:
Effectively communicating with staff, senior management, and external partners.
