We currently have a great opportunity for a General Assistant to join our Care Plus team at The Sandford Nursing Home, Church Stretton, Shropshire on a permanent basis.
The Sandford Nursing Home is a place our residents call home. It's a happy, welcoming atmosphere set amongst the Shropshire hills with luxurious accommodation and expert, nursing-led care and we're looking for caring and supportive individuals to join us. We’re looking for a dedicated professional to bring our values to life and ensure our customers receive outstanding services.
The Role
As a General Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that our residents live in a clean and safe environment and that the service delivered promotes the independence, dignity, rights and choices of the people we support.
Your main responsibilities will include general laundry, including washing, ironing and bed making; simple food preparation including assisting with the preparation of meals and snacks for residents and maintaining cleanliness within communal areas and bathrooms.
Skills and experience required:
Food Safety Level 1 (or willingness to undertake training)
An ability to build relationships of trust and respect with residents and customers
Previous experience in providing a quality care service for people
A commitment to delivering great customer service
Good verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills
Caring attitude with desire to help and support others
An ability to work on your own initiative and priories your work schedule
Due to the nature of this post, the role is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
