Surveyor – Property Damage Assessment (Contract)

Are you an experienced Surveyor seeking a rewarding contract opportunity in South London? We are looking for a skilled professional to join a leading reinstatement team, specialising in the assessment of property damage caused by insured perils such as fire, flood, or impact. This role offers the chance to apply your expertise across both residential and commercial reinstatement projects.

As a Surveyor, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed schedules of reinstatement works, ensuring all repairs are scoped to meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough on-site inspections as a Surveyor to assess property damage and identify pre-existing conditions or potential health & safety risks.


  • Prepare detailed reinstatement schedules using Xactimate, based on both desktop assessments and technician reports.


  • Capture and record precise site data, including measurements, photographs, and any specific considerations.


  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to clarify survey findings and support effective project planning.


  • Review and approve variations submitted by trades and subcontractors.


  • Ensure completion of all health & safety documentation, including CPP and RAMs, in line with company standards.


  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within internal systems (Teams, Handyman).


    Requirements
    • Proven track record as a Surveyor within property damage assessment or insurance-related reinstatement.


    • Strong technical knowledge of building repair methods and materials.


    • Proficiency in Xactimate and experience in both on-site and desktop surveys.


    • Excellent documentation and attention to detail.


    • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.


    • Health & Safety awareness with a good understanding of relevant documentation standards.
