Salary: Scale 3 Point 5 - 6 - Actual Salary: £11414 - £11743 (including fringe allowance)

We have the exciting opportunity for a personable and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team here at Roding Valley High School.
We are looking for a member of staff to work with students to develop their knowledge and understanding both inside and outside the classroom and lead on some evidence based interventions. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve and be the best that they can be. The role would suit both primary and secondary practitioners who have knowledge of supporting young people with low literacy and numeracy levels.
Key responsibilities will include:
Build strong, positive relationships with the students you support.
Deliver planned learning activities and teaching programs, adapting them to meet students' needs as you go.
Communicate effectively with other staff, sharing relevant information about students to ensure a consistent approach.
Help maintain a positive and focused learning environment by promoting and reinforcing school behavior policies.
Prepare and manage learning resources for lessons and activities, working under the SENCo’s/Teacher’s guidance.
Encouraging and enabling students to become more independent learners
Work one-on-one or in a small group, supporting children with their education, behavioural and social development; delivering high quality, evidence based interventions under the supervision of the SENCo/ Deputy SENCo.
To support students effectively in the classroom, create a safe and inclusive environment.
Implement scaffolding by providing temporary, step-by-step support like writing frames and prompts, and use explicit instruction with clear examples and modeling.
A specialism in English or Maths would be desirable.
