Our Opportunity

We are looking for someone passionate about making a difference.

Due to an increase in support required for our pupils with additional needs we are looking for a new GTA!

You will work closely with senior staff such as the class teacher and ATA / HLTA’s to help them deliver engaging activities. You will be a key player in the classroom, encouraging students to participate under the guidance of the teacher and will assist with displays and setting up resources for games and lessons. You will mostly be working in full classroom environment alongside the teacher. Whereas our ATA’s and HLTA’s will deliver small group and one to one work.

We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for working with very young children, and experience working with children who have additional needs. We are working hard to develop our nurture provision for some of our most vulnerable children and we are looking to strengthen our team who work flexibly with all children who are on roll. This post is particularly focused on working intensively with children who require support with communication and interaction.

Key duties:

• Engage with children to develop sustained, shared thinking, and promote the characteristics of effective learning, as defined in the EYFS.
• Prepare and maintain the learning environment – displays, play areas etc.
• Carry out routine tasks to support the work of teacher, HLTAs and ATAs.
• Work within the framework of provision plans set by senior staff to support children’s learning and development.
• Make observations as required and contribute to observational assessment of children’s learning and development by senior staff.

• Be able to support in the delivery of high-quality learning experiences for all children, including those with SEND
• Have high expectations of learning and behaviour and inspire and motivate our children
• Be supportive, nurturing and understanding with high expectations
• Be one of our play people
• Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience
• Work well as part of a large team
• Demonstrate good communication skills both orally and written

Essential Qualifications:

• Relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent
