Summary
Undertake detailed speech, language, and communication assessments as part of autism diagnostic pathways (e.g. ADOS-2, ADI-R, CCC-2, language assessments). Provide expertise on social communication, pragmatic language, and interaction patterns relevant to autism diagnosis. Work collaboratively with psychologists, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, and other clinicians in multidisciplinary diagnostic discussions. Produce high-quality written reports that inform diagnostic conclusions and recommendations for support. Advise families, carers, and schools on communication strategies and approaches following assessment. Contribute to post-diagnostic care planning, signposting, and onward referrals. Maintain accurate documentation in line with RCSLT standards, HCPC requirements, and service protocols. Contribute to safeguarding procedures and ensure duty of candour obligations are met.
