Summary

School Business Manager (SBM) 30 hours per week Monday -Friday
Scale PS9 term time only 39 weeks per year plus 2 weeks
(FTE £41585-£45135 pro rata to £31341-£34017)Clarendon Primary School and Nursery is a forward thinking, well-resourced mainstream primary school in the heart of Ashford. Our School Business Manager is retiring after 19 years of service. We are therefore looking to appoint a replacement who is an enthusiastic, dedicated and forward-thinking person to join our friendly and motivated team. Clarendon Primary School is an inclusive, caring and friendly single form entry school with a creative approach to teaching and learning.We are seeking a School Business Manager whose key Responsibilities include: • To lead on financial management, budgeting, and procurement of resources and services to ensure financial sustainability and value for money.
• Secure additional funding and income generation opportunities.
• Oversee HR processes, including recruitment, payroll, and staff well-being.
• Manage premises, facilities, and health & safety to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
• Develop and implement key policies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and school governance policies.The ideal candidate should have: • Experience in financial and business management, preferably in an educational setting.
• A relevant qualification in business administration, finance, or school business management (e.g. CSBM, DSBM).
• Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to work strategically and embrace challenge.
• Good inter-personal skills, a sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a hardworking, enthusiastic and committed team.
