About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Public Realm Technical Officer to join our Public Realm Operations team. This is a pivotal role focused on developing and managing the Greenspace Asset Register, leading tender processes, and delivering spatial and performance analysis to support service improvement across Nottingham’s green infrastructure.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services, and contribute to strategic planning and operational excellence. This role also includes supervising frontline staff from time to time and supporting apprenticeships and training schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the Greenspace Asset Register for contract and non-contract works.
- Lead and manage tender processes, ensuring robust and timely delivery.
- Provide spatial and performance analysis to inform service improvements.
- Support the Public Realm Operations Lead Manager with data-driven insights and reporting.
- Liaise with stakeholders to align service delivery with council priorities.
- Contribute to development for Garden Assistance and HRA maintenance.
- Supervise frontline staff and support training and development initiatives.
- Conduct health and safety monitoring, ward walks, and estate inspections.
- Manage attendance, performance, and conduct processes using Oracle Fusion.

- Experience managing complex projects, including procurement and risk management.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with knowledge of project management theory.
- Ability to lead operational teams and drive service improvements.
- Experience working with external consultants and specialist providers.
- Knowledge of fleet management and grounds maintenance operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Prepared to work across multiple locations within Nottingham City.
- Commitment to personal development and team growth.
- Proficient in managing asset management systems
- Highly skilled in the use of IT to support operational efficiency.
