Timber Company - Yard Operative
Location: Keelby
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30am - 5:00pm
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (after 12 weeks)
The Best Connection is recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a busy timber and building materials company in Keelby. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in keeping things organised, and wants to be part of a friendly, fast-paced team.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries of timber and related products.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Operate yard equipment safely (training provided if needed).
- Ensure timber is stored correctly to maintain quality and safety.
- Keep the yard clean, organised, and hazard-free.
- Carry out stock checks and report any discrepancies or shortages.
- Provide excellent service to customers and delivery drivers.
- Follow all health & safety procedures at all times.
- A team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual lifting.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
- Experience operating yard equipment is a plus - but training can be provided.
- Good communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Own transport is essential due to location and shift times.
