Summary


An opportunity has arisen for a family-centred and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our friendly and well established children’s community physiotherapy team on a 1 year fixed term contract.



As a member of our large community children’s physiotherapy team, you would be working in a multi-cultural environment, and will hold a varied caseload that will include special needs schools, mainstream schools, nurseries and home visits. As part of the community team, you will also participate in specialist clinics and hydrotherapy.



The department is forward looking and committed to clinical governance. Professional and personal development is actively encouraged through regular in-service training, appraisal systems, peer support and the running of courses.

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner to deliver specialised physiotherapeutic intervention to children across Barts Health NHS Trust. They will use highly developed skills in assessment and treatment for patients with a wide variety of conditions and diverse presentations. Treatment will be delivered in a wide variety of settings, including clinics, patient’s homes and schools. Formal and informal supervision will be available.



As part of this post, the job holder will participate in teaching programmes, evidence based practice and ensuring clinical effectiveness. They will contribute to research and service development. They will be responsible for the supervision of Band 6 and Band 4 staff as well as clinical education of physiotherapy students on placement.
