Summary

Job Title: Grinding Operative (PTS Rail Grinding Operative)
Positions Available: 12

McGinley are seeking PTS Rail Grinding Operatives to join our workforce for ongoing rail works across Kent and London, with immediate starts available. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work within a professional and safety-focused team. Shifts will be available during weekdays and weekends.

Role Overview:

As a Rail Grinding Operative, you will play a key role in the safe upkeep of the rail network by operating and assisting with grinding equipment to restore rail profiles and remove defects. Duties will include:

  • Carrying out rail grinding tasks to improve track condition and extend rail life.
  • Working as part of a safety-critical team on live rail infrastructure.
  • Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Following instructions from supervisors and adhering to Network Rail safety procedures.
  • Preparing, operating, and maintaining grinding machinery and associated tools.
  • Supporting the wider team with general track maintenance as required.

Requirements & Competencies:

  • TR80 ticket
  • PTS (Personal Track Safety)
  • Previous experience in rail grinding operations is preferred
  • A strong commitment to health & safety and teamwork
