Summary

Position: Learning Support and Lunchtime Supervisor

Type of Contract: Fixed Term until 31.08.2026Hours: LSA – In class 28.33 Lunchtime 2.5 hours per week. Term time, including Insets + one week

Salary: Actual Salary £17,846 (FTE £24,415)Guillemont Junior School is a vibrant, supportive and inclusive mainstream school set in beautiful grounds. We have two Resourced Provisions: one for Speech Language and Communication Needs and one for Autism. We are part of a federation with Pinewood Infant School, providing additional opportunities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and flexible learning support assistant (LSA) with good communication skills to join our dedicated and hardworking team primarily within the resourced provision for children with Autism. You will be working on a 1:1 basis with children within our ASC provision, ensuring they are supported in their education within the classroom and through specific targeted interventions as well as working the other children in the class. This is an excellent opportunity to extend knowledge and skills of language development.The successful candidate will be expected to:
Have some experience of working with children, (special needs experience is desirable but not essential).
Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills, (GCSE Grades A-C in Maths & English).
Implement learning activities to enable the children to have access to the planned curriculum.
Help the children to develop social skills and appropriate interactions with peers.
Have a willingness to learn new skills.
Have the ability to support the development of the children's social and self-help skills.
Use a variety of positive behaviour management strategies under guidance of the teachers.
Work closely with and be accountable to the class teacher, who will give guidance on the nature and extent of the support and supervision.
Undertake 30 minutes supervision of children at lunchtimes as directed.
Plan and review regularly with the class teacher.
Meet regularly with the inclusion manager, RP manager and RP teachers and contribute to children’s Learning Plans.
