£46,365 - £49,157 / £25.41 - £26.94 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for an experienced, adaptable and driven individual to coordinate the management of and oversee all areas of the Councils Cultural services including Arts development, Museums service, Heritage development and St Magnus Cathedral and coordinate strategy, policy and planning across Cultural services.

The successful candidate will have a proven record and relevant experience in budget control and managing a dispersed staff team across a wide range of facilities and service areas.

Detailed knowledge and experience of sectoral standards surrounding Cultural services provision including the Museums Association code of ethics is essential, with an understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by rural and island communities specifically in relation to Cultural services would also be advantageous.

You should hold a qualification at SCQF 8/9 i.e. SVQ4, HND, General Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, Technical Apprenticeship in a subject relevant to the role or a have a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience, as detailed in the experience section of this person specification. Associateship of the Museums Association qualification is desirable.
