Westminster House is looking for a support worker who can provide an active, friendly, and welcoming short stay service for adults with learning disabilities, Autism, and ‘behaviours that challenge’. We ensure that those we care for can engage in an active, fulfilling lifestyle and we need a team of proactive and inspiring people to support us in this goal.

As part of our team, you’ll enable and support with all kinds of activities encouraging people who use our service to enjoy Island life, from trips to the beach and taking part in community events to supporting with arts and crafts and activities on site.

We provide care and support for people with a wide range of complex care needs and diverse interests, so you’ll need to tailor your work and communication to suit each person, ensuring everyone is happy and engaged in the activities and experiences that suit them best.

We are looking for positive, committed, and forward-thinking support workers who are great at emotionally connecting with a diverse range of people, because, as a short stay service, the people we support are ever-changing, all with different emotional and physical wellbeing needs. We also specialise in emergency short term care, supporting people during challenging emotional times in their lives.

As a Support Worker you’ll help with regular personal care when needed, this can include toileting, dressing and feeding or administering medication. You’ll also help with on-site domestic duties such as cooking and cleaning and includes accurate and thoughtful report writing. Every day is filled with a variety of tasks and challenges, making this a dynamic and interesting work environment.
