Summary

Job Overview

Megasleepers seek an experienced PSV Mechanic/Vehicle Technician to ensure our fleet is compliant with the high standards set by the company and the DVSA. The successful applicant will have a strong mechanical knowledge and sufficient experience to maintain and repair the fleet in our purpose-built workshop located in a convenient location beside Junction 29A of the M1.

About Megasleepers

Megasleepers fleet of luxury sleeper buses provide luxury transport across the UK and Europe. Established in 2016, the company has gone from strength to strength across a variety of industries including music, theatre, sports and TV.

Duties will include

· Carrying out vehicle servicing in accordance with company policy

· Carrying out Periodic Maintenance Inspections and repair to both company and DVSA standards

· Preparing and presenting for MOTs

· Diagnosing vehicle faults, specifying the correct method and carrying out appropriate repairs

· Ensuring correct paperwork is completed and accurate records maintained in a timely manner

· Adhering to good housekeeping practices including general tidiness in the workshop, return of all tools and equipment to their designated place

· Attending on-road vehicle breakdowns

· Carrying out vehicle road testing where necessary to determine specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

· Complying with Health and Safety policy and guidance documents

· Adopting methods of safe working.

Experience and qualities

· Proven experience in PSV or HGV maintenance, repair and diagnostics

· Minimum 5 years industry experience of both mechanical and electrical systems

· PSV licence is essential to carry out road testing as required

· Welding experience would also be desirable

· Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act to enable safe practice

· Ability to work effectively unsupervised, use own initiative and remain focused and consistent with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Remuneration and hours

· Full time position / 40 - 45 paid hours per week

· Overtime may be necessary as required during busy periods

· Competitive rate of pay, in line with applicant’s experience
