Summary

SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

Do you want hands-on experience supporting pupils with additional needs in a primary setting?

Could you provide calm, consistent support so children with Autism, ADHD and EBD can access learning and make progress?

The Role:
You’ll work alongside the SENCO and class teachers to deliver tailored support for pupils with Autism, ADHD and EBD. Day to day, you’ll run short, focused interventions, implement support plans, use visual schedules and clear routines, and help pupils regulate and re-engage. You’ll adapt tasks, record simple progress notes, and share next steps with staff and parents.

The Candidate:
You’re a graduate with a patient, empathetic approach and clear communication. You can follow strategies, maintain consistent boundaries, and build trust quickly. You’re organised, reflective, and motivated to remove barriers to learning and promote independence.

Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in SEN, behaviour support and pupil wellbeing.
• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (SEN support, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
